Hexbug Mazes

These little Hexbugs are a neat addition to any STEAM/STEM program! We create mazes for them using scrap wood and PCV pipes. Teams also utilize chipboard, cardboard tubes, and tape.

We do this challenge once every three years and the kids LOVE it! It’s a great way to introduce/reteach the concept of rapid iteration, making decisions as a team quickly, and troubleshooting on the fly. Next time we do this challenge we will be adding in new components: plastic, curved tunnel pieces that are similar to a cardboard tube cut in half as well as pieces from the Hexbug Nano Land set.
