Storybook STEAM/STEM Challenges

This is a yearly challenge. Each grade level works on a STEAM challenge, after reading a book!

• 4K: The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

• 5K: The Three Bears

• 1st: The Three Pigs

• 2nd: Muncha, Muncha, Muncha

• 3rd: If’ I Built a Car

• 4th: After the Fall

• 5th: Waterslides

It is a two week challenge.

Week 1: Read book, brainstorm, draft ideas, go shopping, and start building.

Week 2: Finish building and test.

A few changes for the next time we do this:

• Have all grade levels use SEESAW app to brainstorm prototypes AND materials list

• Find BEAR stuffed animals for 5K
